You might think he’s just tidying up the cafeteria, but for many patients battling cancer, Melvin is so much more than that. He’s the heartbeat of hope; his presence brings light into dark times, making our hospital visits a little brighter with every interaction—a hug here, a smile there, or a prayer when spirits need lifting high.
🌈 **Every day, as my mom walks through those cancer ward doors, she looks forward to seeing Melvin. He’s the beacon of positivity in her journey against this relentless disease. His kindness turns our visits from bleak appointments into moments filled with warmth and courage.**
Melvin doesn't just serve food—he serves hope, spreading love like a contagious whisper that says, "You are not alone." And every time we see him, there’s renewed strength in my mom’s step; she tells me about the times he prayed with her or simply held her hand. His impact is immeasurable!

As one Facebook account said- “Sitting in the MD Anderson lunch room as mama is in surgery and this employee (Mr Melvin) comes by and starts a casual conversation - next thing I know we were having CHUUUCH!!⛪️
After he leaves our table I look around and he’s having prayer with a woman who was sitting alone - tears stream down both of their faces..🙏🏾
Dude has a whole ministry where it’s desperately needed, inside a cancer hospital. Just about every person you meet here is fighting for their lives, and Mr Melvin is interceding for them all!”
