Imagine your child is being bullied at his public school—pushed, harassed, and silenced. You do what any loving parent would do: you stand up for them. You speak the truth. You advocate for their safety.
They didn’t protect my son from bullying. They took him from me instead.
My name is Katia Colon. I’m a mother in New York City, and right now, I’m fighting to keep my child. This isn’t a misunderstanding. This isn’t a mistake. This is what happened when my son and I spoke up.
After my child experienced repeated bullying and physical assault in a New York City public school, I stepped in to advocate for him in moments he was too afraid to stand up for himself, but the public School administration known as, the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE), responded with intimidation, retaliation, and committed Federal special education fraud rather than safety and support.
But instead of helping, the school turned on us. Instead of addressing the bullying, the public-school administration labeled my son with a “speech and language impairment,” a special education classification I did not agree with, especially after independent evaluations told a different story. I didn’t yell. I didn’t threaten. I simply advocated for my child’s truth. And that’s when everything escalated.
I believe the school didn’t want to fix the problem; they wanted to control the narrative. To silence my son’s voice, make it seem like he couldn’t speak for himself or advocate on his own behalf, and that I shouldn’t either.
So, as an act of retaliation, they did something I never imagined. They involved Child Protective Services (CPS). In New York City, that means ACS, known as the Administration for Children’s Services.
A little over a year after their CPS (ACS in New York City) petition was dismissed against me, my son was taken from me. Despite no active case, no report, no investigation, no legitimate reason, ACS filed a false Family Court petition against me through a third party proxy petitioner. Their goal? To unlawfully strip me of custody of my son. Let that sink in.
They took my child without a court order or legal basis. I need your help to fight this.
I’m a mother fighting a battle I never thought I’d face, not just against school bullying, but against a public-school administration in New York City that has tried to silence my son and me, including weaponizing Child Protective Services (CPS) to unlawfully take my son from me because we spoke out against my son being sexually assaulted and bullied while in school.
I am doing everything I can to defend my rights, clear my name, and most importantly, bring my son home and protect his future. Instead of protecting him from bullying, CPS (ACS in New York City) helped the public-school administration by enabling the abuse of my son. I tried to protect my son from being harmed at school, and now I’m fighting to keep him in my life.
💔 This is not just a legal fight.
This is a fight for my child’s safety, for my rights as a parent, and for justice in the face of systemic abuse and government overreach.
I urgently need your help to raise $100,000 to secure expert legal representation, cover court costs, ensure safe travel, and, if necessary, bring in expert witnesses who can expose the truth.
I am currently without legal representation and facing a complex and hostile legal system alone. Your support could make the difference between a mother being silenced or heard. Between a child losing his advocate or keeping his protector.
Help me make noise where they want silence.

Together, we can demand accountability, stand up to retaliation, and ensure no CHILD or parent is ever silenced for speaking the truth and protecting THEIR child.
