Hello. My name is John Lewallen. I’m a 47-year-old Navy veteran (USS Kearsarge (LHD-3)), the current Master of Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #249, and the sole owner of a small landscaping and property-services business in coastal Southport, North Carolina. A Biopsy confirmed pancreatic adenocarcinoma with involvement of a nearby lymph node. I’m starting treatment soon at Duke University in Durham, then MD Anderson in Houston, TX if needed. That means zero business income—there’s no one else to do the work. I also won’t be able to provide the daily help my 73-year-old dad needs. He lives with me, is on oxygen, and doesn’t get around very well. VA is covering my medical care, but the lost income, travel and lodging costs, recovery supplies, and gap in support at home will add up quickly. I’m trusting the Lord through this and would be grateful for any help toward the goal.
Items needed at home include two Coway HEPA filters, an adjustable bed with a full mattress and mattress pad, walker/cane, shower stool, food for my five dogs, N95 masks (a couple boxes) for visitors and errands, and other recovery supplies.
