Supporting the Jankoviak Family

This past Saturday morning, our homeschool basketball community experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Christopher Jankoviak and his son Johnny were traveling to Johnny's game at the Crossroads Clash tournament when their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck at an intersection in northern Indiana. Chris died at the scene. Johnny was airlifted to the hospital where he remains in critical condition on life support. (Update: Johnny has since passed away, please see the Updates section below)

A Life That Reflected Christ

Those who knew Chris describe him as one of the greatest men they've ever known—a mentor, an inspiration, and a living example of Christ-like love. He was known for his infectious joy, his unwavering positivity, and his ability to love people unconditionally, right where they were. Chris impacted countless lives through his genuine faith and servant's heart. He leaves behind his wife Mandy and their six children, including Johnny, who continues to fight for his life.

How You Can Help

The Jankoviak family now faces overwhelming grief compounded by significant financial burdens—medical expenses for Johnny's ongoing care, funeral costs for Chris, and the loss of income as Mandy navigates life without her husband and supports her critically injured son.

As a homeschool basketball community, we have the opportunity to come together and tangibly demonstrate the love of Christ to this family in their darkest hour. The Mishawaka Christian Athletic Club and the families who participated in the Crossroads Clash tournament are partnering to raise $25,000 to help alleviate the financial strain during this devastating time.
