Our baby has been diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a serious condition that will require specialized care and a prolonged stay in the NICU after birth. At this time, doctors anticipate a NICU stay of at least 5–6 weeks, though it could extend to several months, depending on how our baby responds to treatment.

Because of this, our family is facing a period of significant uncertainty — medically, emotionally, and financially.

My husband does not have paid time off, and we expect a loss of income while he stays close to the hospital to support our baby. I have also paused my job search in order to focus fully on my pregnancy and prepare for the intensive care our baby will need before and after birth.

In addition to daily living expenses during a long NICU stay (meals, transportation, and hospital-related costs), we may need to travel or temporarily relocate to a specialized CDH center, such as in Philadelphia or Florida, if higher-level care becomes necessary.

Funds raised will help cover:

Lost wages during unpaid time off

Daily expenses while spending extended time in the NICU

Possible travel or temporary relocation for specialized care

Medical and monitoring equipment our baby may need after discharge

Supplies related to feeding support, oxygen, or other post-NICU needs

We have set an initial goal of $50,000 to help us remain financially stable during this journey. If our baby’s hospital stay is longer than expected or if relocation becomes necessary, the goal may be adjusted as needs evolve.
