We support the survival and welfare of the residents of Enkusero Sampu, a community of 1500 people/150 families located in a remote Maasai village in the Ngong Hills of Kenya.

The people of Enkusero Sampu are facing famine as drought, remote location and lack of transportation, lack of government support, global food shortages, and food cost inflation make getting basic food stuffs to the village an expensive and extremely difficult challenge.

Hope for the Future Africa Inc endeavors to respond quickly to the urgent needs in the village, as well as organizes semiannual ‘food drops’ to the village. We raise funds in Southern California and with the help of the local resident board members of our Kenya-based sister foundation, we purchase and distribute the local food staple (corn meal) to village residents.

Additionally, our special funding priority is to protect the girls of Enkusero Sampu from female genital mutilation and forced early marriage. We do this by providing funds for:

• Uniform and book scholarships to government boarding schools for girls

• Supporting the village primary school and encouraging female attendance by providing necessary feminine hygiene products.

We also support microfinancing for women-owned businesses, including traditional Maasai bead craft, a beekeeping enterprise, primary school supplies, water and semi-arid farming support, and much more.
