Brent application for 13-storey communal religious space and prayer halls

I have been asked to help resist this application to replace the existing UK Albanian Muslim Community and Cultural Centre with a “13-storey and basement building comprising prayer halls and communal religious space of worship for the local community”.

13 storeys might dominate the area, and local people want to resist it. The total floorspace proposed is 4,414 sq metres, including 1,050 sq metres of office space and 3,364 sq metres of “community” use.

The proposed building offers no parking spaces for the 1,000 visitors expected at peak times.

Local people are rightly concerned about additional traffic in this congested area, and about local amenity.

I am asking you for donations toward the out-of-pocket expenses of £2,000 to resist it.

As usual, none of the money goes to me, but to the costs of fighting this application.
