Exchanged.education is a free online library of Christian writing across two thousand years: the Church Fathers, medieval mystics, Reformers, and modern authors. It has an interactive timeline, a search that finds works by subject, and an Influence Map showing who shaped whom. Many works can be read in full on the site.
Where the work is: research.
Anyone can post a list of old books. We try to get each record right:
- Each author and work is researched individually: dates, attribution, and which editions and translations exist.
- We check that a link goes to the right book and edition. Wrong editions, dead links, and mislabeled translations are found and removed.
- Ratings of difficulty and value (“Should I read this?”) are proposed with AI assistance, then reviewed and confirmed by a person before readers see them.
- Influence connections between authors are recorded with evidence, and nothing is shown publicly until it is approved.
- Reader texts are proofed against the original scans.
This is slow, careful work, and it is why we ask for support.
Why this fundraiser exists.
Exchanged has:
- no advertising,
- no denominational sponsor,
- no publisher or institutional backing, and
- nothing for sale.
No one funds this library’s development. We want to keep it that way so it can stay free, independent, and trustworthy. Readers shouldn’t be sold to, and the research shouldn’t bend to any one tradition’s preferences.
Where your gift goes.
100% of every gift pays for the tools that keep the library running:
- AI services used in research and drafting
- Website hosting
- Software and subscriptions
No money goes to the site’s developer. I build and maintain Exchanged without pay, and this fundraiser only offsets the running costs.
What your gift makes possible:
- More authors researched and added to the library
- More public-domain texts proofed and made readable on the site
- Reliable hosting, so the library stays fast and available
- Continued free access for everyone, with no ads and no paywall
Any amount helps, and so does sharing this page with a pastor, teacher, student, or friend who loves old books.
Thank you for helping keep this library free and independent.
