Help Us Establish a Permanent Parish Location

Our Current Reality: The Church in the Home

We are a small but fervent mission of Saint Gregory Palamas Orthodox Church, currently in the humble "mustard seed" stage of our journey. Right now, our spiritual life is centered in the home of our priest, Father Sebastian. Every week, we gather in his living room to offer Vespers and the Divine Liturgy. Though our setting is humble, and while these services are deeply intimate and full of grace our community is vibrant and overflowing; we are blessed with a dedicated core of parishioners and a growing number of catechumens seeking the ancient path. Most joyfully, our pews—or rather, our living room floors—are filled with children, who nearly outnumber the adults. This abundance of young life is a beautiful testament to our future, yet it serves as a clear sign that we have outgrown our walls. We are no longer just a gathering; we are a burgeoning family in need of a home. We are ready to take the next step in establishing a permanent, public presence for Orthodoxy in the Verde Valley.

The Mission: Christs Light vs. "New Age" Confusion

Sedona, Arizona, is world-renowned for its beauty, but it is also a global epicenter for "New Age" spirituality. Thousands travel here annually seeking healing and truth, yet they often find themselves lost in paths that cannot offer the fullness of Christ. We feel a profound calling to bring the ancient, unchanging Truth of the Gospel to this unique region—to be a spiritual hospital and a beacon of the authentic Apostolic faith amidst the red rocks.

The Goal: $75,000

To move from a private home to a public sanctuary, we have set an ambitious but necessary goal of $75,000. $75,000 provides the critical "runway" needed to transition from a nomadic or home-based ministry into a dedicated community fixture. Here is how that seed money bridges the gap to self-sufficiency:

Security & Accessibility: It covers the heavy upfront costs—security deposits, first/last month’s rent, and basic build-outs—allowing the church to secure a professional space that is visible and accessible to the public.

Operating Buffer: By earmarking these funds specifically for a 18–24 month lease, the church is protected from immediate financial pressure. This "grace period" ensures the doors stay open while the congregation grows.

Growth Potential: A consistent physical presence builds trust within the neighborhood. This stability makes it easier to host midweek programs, outreach events, and services, which naturally leads to increased membership and a self-sustaining tithing base.

Proof of Concept: Having a dedicated home proves to the community and future donors that the church is a permanent, committed partner in the area’s well-being.

Why Your Support Matters Today

Establishing a church from the ground up in such a high-cost area is a monumental task that we cannot achieve alone. By donating, you aren't just giving to a building fund; you are:

  1. Directly combating spiritual confusion by providing a home for the True Faith.
  2. Building a legacy in one of the most spiritually "sought-after" places in America.
  3. Supporting a living mission that is already active and praying for the world every week.

How You Can Help

Whether you can give $5, $500, or $5,000, every dollar brings us one brick closer to a permanent altar. If you cannot give financially, please consider sharing our GiveSendGo link with your networks or offering your prayers for Father Sebastian and our mission.

Help us plant the seeds of Orthodoxy in the desert. Together, we can build a house for the Lord.
