My inspiration for starting Developing Family Resources came from my baby boy, who was born prematurely at just 27 weeks, weighing only 1 pound 13 ounces. He spent 113 days in the NICU, and during that time, I witnessed firsthand how many families struggled to meet their basic needs. Seeing their challenges made me determined to make a difference in our community.

I began by hosting baby showers for families in need, which quickly grew into monthly Free Days where anyone could come and receive essentials. As the need continued to grow, I moved our events from community centers to The Grove Church, hosting free days every other month. Wanting to help even more people, I took a leap and secured a building to create a dedicated resource center.

Now, Developing Family Resources is on its way to becoming a nonprofit organization. We have an amazing building in a prime location, generous donations coming in, and a supportive community that has stepped up to help. Our center provides clothing (from newborn to 5XL for men and women), shoes, socks, blankets, baby items, food, diapers, wipes, and more to anyone in need. We also plan to host free events and classes to empower families and strengthen our community. With your support, we can obtain our nonprofit status and cover rent and utilities, ensuring we continue to serve those who need it most.
