Hello! Those of you who know our friend Dawn know that she has had some challenging years and then real tragedy struck. In January of 2022, Dawn's husband of 25 years passed away suddenly, leaving her to care for their four children by herself. Many of you have stepped up over the last two years to give support and prayers for this family.
Because Curt worked in ministry, they made the decision to buy a fixer-upper and slowly over the years Curt was bringing the house up to living standards one project at a time. Dawn has been a full-time homeschooling mom to the children, particularly due to having one child with special needs that required constant supervision.
Right before Curt passed away, they had decided to tackle their bathrooms which were leaking and share a wall. The tile is cracking, the floor is probably rotted, there is significant mold, and Dawn is not in a financial position to prioritize a remodel in her budget.
A mutual friend of ours is a general contractor (John Renzi) and has helped Dawn get a good idea of what needs to be done and agreed to oversee making sure it get done right. John confirmed that she should have the bathrooms done one after the other, as the plumbing issues are affecting both bathrooms.
I am setting up this givesendgo in the hopes that if our communities come together we can gather the financial resources so she can complete this project and have the peace of mind that these issues are not deteriorating the structural integrity of her home. Any additional funds will go to helping Dawn fix some of the rest of the long list of Things that also need fixing in the house.
