Something totally unexpected and unimaginable just happened to 21 year old US citizen of Tucson, Arizona, who never before had had as much as a traffic ticket in any brush with the law, and minding his own business, living his young life helping his single mom run her day-care business and coparenting his younger siblings… Then Everything Changed
He and his mom opened the door to their suburban Tuscan townhome on a Tuesday afternoon in July at around 5:00 pm, after hearing a loud pounding (which turned out to be from a battering ram) to be greeted by a dozen or more members of a Tucson-based Multi-Agency Task Force with all of their guns (handguns and AK-47’s) aimed directly at them. It was a raid, followed by three months of unknowns, a voluntary surrender, and one night (so far) in jail.
Suspect’s name: Johnny (Juan) A……
Charges: 10 Criminal Counts of exploitation of a minor
Status: Here We Are, three months later, still asking questions.. But, WE GOT THE RECEIPTS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We need to raise $100,000 by October 17, 2026, to fund Johnny A’s legal defense, whose once promised future now depends on engaging experienced legal counsel (minimum fee of $50,000, plus private detective and other defense related costs) available to defend him against these charges based on indirect “circumstantial” evidence.
Johnny and his family believe that serious questions need to be answered about the TPD investigation and search warrant, and whether his constitutional rights as a resident and citizen of the USA were respected.
What happened
According to the family's account, a multi-agency task force based in Tucson, AZ of a dozen of unidentified plain closed men and women in ball caps and dark glasses, presumably including ICE/HSA personnel along with uniformed and plainclothes Tucson Police officers, found their way into his family home under cover of a search warrant, and taking electronics after their three hour search. The family’s initial concerns were about how the individuals who executed the search warrant identified themselves, what the charges were, the scope and handling of the search, and the electronic devices seized and inventoried.
Johnny’s mom and his younger siblings were present during this encounter.
After the search and initial questioning by a TPD detective, Johnny was given instructions to remain contact with his mom, who would be informed as to when and where Johnny would be
required to to surrender to the authorities for processing. Johnny followed the instructions, reported to the authorities some 70 days later, was taken into custody, spent a night in jail, and was released on $15,000 cash bond.
Subsequently the above criminal charges were filed. Johnny has pleaded not guilty to ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and is represented by private counsel temporarily.
These are serious allegations, and we certainly recognize the importance of protecting children. While we earnestly believe that Johnny is totally innocent until found guilty by a jury of his peers beyond a reasonable doubt, we also believe that every person accused of a crime in the USA is entitled under the Constitution to a fair process, competent legal representation, and a meaningful and robust defense.
A criminal accusation is not a verdict. Due process matters in every case. The public announcement of criminal charges to the public alone brings untold harm to the accused who are innocent and often results in a false pre-judgment in the court of public opinion by default. A robust defense to the criminal charges filed against Johnny is imperative, to not only his future, but as an example of the rush to judgement by force we see all too often in each and every state, city, and town throughout the United States of America today.
Why we need your help now...
The family has retained highly recommended and experienced criminal-defense counsel. Continued representation by their firm requires an additional $50,000 retainer by Saturday October 17th.
This is an urgent deadline. Without the necessary funding, maintaining the legal resources already secured may become difficult.
Our “Receipts” are free and we have them! Throughout this case, Johnny has been cooperative, has complied with the process as instructed, and deserves what he is due as a resident and US Citizen under the US Constiution as afforded to every single one of us!
The case involves a multi-agency task force, in a city claustrophobic with misuse of law enforcement efforts by inadequately trained immigration and police, supported a divided public. The charges involve electronic evidence, and the search involved a frequently publicized police search dog. There are serious unanswered questions surrounding the evidence and seizure, and a dire need for a thorough review of the investigation.
Qualified and competent counsel is needed to have the resources necessary to examine the evidence, evaluate potential constitutional issues, and determine which legal challenges are appropriate.
Why this case raises questions beyond one family
Our concerns extend beyond this young man's circumstances.
How should investigators identify themselves when executing a search and questioning suspects? What safeguards protect the people present, including children? How should electronic evidence be collected, documented, and examined? What accountability exists when a family believes an investigation has crossed constitutional boundaries?
These questions deserve careful examination based on evidence, law, and due process.
We welcome the connections with constitutional-rights attorneys, civil-liberties advocates, investigative journalists, and supporters of fair and accountable law enforcement who believe that constitutional protections must apply consistently for every citizen.
Our goal: $100,000 by October 17
Every contribution will help us meet this immediate legal funding deadline.
We welcome support from individuals, community members, and people who believe access to qualified legal representation should not depend solely on a family's financial resources.
If you cannot donate, please share this campaign with attorneys, advocates, journalists, and people who may be able to help.
We will provide appropriate fundraising updates while respecting the confidentiality of the legal proceedings.
Help us secure the legal representation needed to protect Johnny’s rights and ensure that this case is examined fairly!!
Thank you for taking the time to listen, share, and support the right to due process guaranteed under law.
