Hi everyone,
I’m a single mom who has just arrived in the United States with my son.
We are settling in, but we have no transport. I recently got my permit, but the area we are in has very little public transport, so without a car we are pretty much stuck and limited in what we can do.
I want to earn my own way by starting a small side business making candles and seasonal handmade crafts. My hope is that this little business will help cover our daily needs and also move us closer to getting a car, which is essential for us to get around and build a more independent life.
Longer term, my goal is to grow this and eventually settle in the Kansas City area.
I already have the skills and ideas, but I need help getting the first stock and supplies — wax, jars, scents, packaging, and materials for seasonal pieces.
Any support you can give will go directly toward buying those starter supplies so I can begin making and selling. Once I get going, I’ll be able to start earning and working toward both stability and transport for me and my son.
