WHY I’M FIGHTING
For more than 20 years, I’ve stood on football fields teaching young people how to handle adversity, how to lead, how to work, and how to Find A Way when life doesn’t go according to plan.
I’ve always believed coaching is bigger than football.
It’s about being a coach, mentor, father figure, leader and guide.
But now, I’m facing a fight of my own.
I’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and I’m preparing to begin this next chapter of my journey.
I’m asking my family, friends, athletes, coaches, church family and community to stand with me as I navigate cancer, upcoming medical expenses and the financial responsibilities of keeping my family moving forward.
I don’t share this looking for sympathy.
NO SYMPATHY. JUST SUPPORT.
I’ve spent my life telling young people to keep fighting when things get hard.
Now it’s my turn to live those words.
THIS IS BIGGER THAN ME
This campaign is also about something I believe every man needs to hear:
GET CHECKED.
Too many men put their health last.
We take care of everybody else.
We work.
We provide.
We coach.
We lead.
We say, “I’m good.”
And sometimes we wait too long.
My hope is that my fight can encourage another man to make that appointment, ask that question and get checked.
Don’t let fear, pride or being too busy keep you from taking care of yourself.
Your family needs you.
Your team needs you.
Your community needs you.

WHY I’M ASKING FOR HELP
I’m a full-time coach, Athletic Director, father and fiancé.
My children are in college and beginning their journeys into the working world. My fiancée, Jerrica, is also living with multiple sclerosis, and life has already given our family plenty to navigate.
Now we’re facing another battle.
I haven’t started treatment yet, and we don’t know exactly what this journey will look like or what expenses may come with it. That’s why I’m asking for support as I prepare for treatment and whatever lies ahead.
Funds raised will help with medical treatment and related expenses, doctor appointments and testing, transportation, household responsibilities, family needs and other financial challenges that may arise throughout my cancer journey.

My faith is what keeps me moving.
I don’t have every answer.
I don’t know exactly what tomorrow brings.
But I know I’m not walking through this alone.
God is with me.
