Finley Walden’s life was forever changed following a severe UTV accident while returning from a church picnic in the mountains. With five children aboard, the UTV rolled, throwing all clear except Finley, who was trapped and severely crushed. His father Jamie, a paramedic, provided 1.5 hours of emergency care in the backcountry before accompanying him on a 12-hour journey involving a helicopter, an airplane, and three ambulance rides to reach specialized pediatric trauma and orthopedic teams in Colorado Springs.
Finley suffered multiple severe fractures in both femurs, an additional tibia/fibula fracture in one leg, and significant blood loss. He underwent major surgery to begin repairing his injuries. He will face many more. Through this life-altering ordeal, his family continues to trust in the Lord’s will and hold on to hope for Finley’s future. His road to recovery has started and while he faces many medical challenges, he should not face it alone. This is where you can help.
