Dear friends,
I would like to ask for your help for my friend Volodymyr in Ukraine, whom I have known for more than 20 years.
Volodymyr and his team run a humanitarian center that has become a home and safe place for 51 people, including mothers with children, elderly people, and people with disabilities. They also operate a small kindergarten and a private school.
This past summer, they also organized a kid's camp, where 70 local children had a chance to simply be kids again—to play, spend time together, and enjoy some sense of normal life despite everything happening around them.
Now they have a very practical and urgent need.
Winter is coming, and they need firewood.
To heat the center, school, and kindergarten through the upcoming winter, Volodymyr needs approximately 17 truckloads of firewood.
Because of the war, rising prices, and supply difficulties, one truckload now costs about 14,000–16,000 Ukrainian hryvnias, or approximately $340–$390 USD.
That means they need roughly $6,500 to have enough firewood to make it through the winter.
Volodymyr and the people helping him are working close to the front line, where security remains a serious concern. For their safety, I am intentionally not sharing his full name or the exact location of the center. Those same security concerns also make it difficult for him to openly ask for help through social media.
So, I would like to help be his voice here.
If you are able to contribute—even a small amount—it will go directly toward purchasing firewood and keeping 51 residents and the children attending the school and kindergarten warm this winter.
And if you are not able to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser with others would also mean a lot.
Thank you, my friends, for taking the time to read this and for any help you can give ❤️
Every contribution brings them a little closer to a warm and safe winter.
