Ryan is a Marine veteran, a father, and someone who has used his voice to help people who feel they cannot speak for themselves. Now our family is asking others to stand with him.
According to Ryan's account to our family, he was taken into custody when he reported to pretrial services in Harrison County, Texas, after being told he no longer needed to report. He says he continued reporting anyway. He disputes the bond revocation and says he was not told at the time which condition he had allegedly violated.
We believe his detention is unjust. We are seeking the official records explaining the revocation and the status of the underlying deadly-conduct matter. We want the facts addressed through a fair process.
We are also concerned about his health and treatment in custody. Ryan has reported to our family that he has not received needed medication or a medical evaluation, and that he spent his first night without a mat or blanket. These are reports from Ryan that we want documented and addressed.
At home, Ryan has a baby who is only two and a half months old. We want him home for the everyday moments with his child and the holidays ahead. We are rebuilding our lives, and this cash requirement is more than we can cover ourselves.
All net proceeds are intended solely for Ryan's legal defense, with the immediate priority of funding his cash bond through a recipient and payment arrangement permitted by GiveSendGo and the court's current requirements. Any funds remaining after the bond, and any bond funds later returned, are intended for his legal-defense expenses, including obtaining an attorney if possible. We will update supporters if the bond amount, release requirements, or approved use of funds changes. Donors are not promised repayment from a later bond refund.
