Our basically blind dachshund, Millie, needs emergency vet care, and we are asking for help only if it will not strain you financially. I know we are all struggling these days.
Millie chewed through a plugged in lamp cord and electrocuted her mouth, possibly affecting her really bad eye, as well. VCA wanted to do X-rays for concerns on her heart, along with a bunch of other things, but their $2000 *low side estimate* was more than we could afford, and they wanted 100% upfront. So we drove over an hour to a lower cost Urgent Care so we could get her as much treatment and testing as we could, on a limited budget. Our Carecredit cards are maxed out from the last two pet emergencies.
Millie has just gone back with the vet nurse for bloodwork, sedation, chest X-rays, and a mouth wound flushing. The vet said she is super lucky, probably has best case scenario injuries, and could have been so much worse.
Your generous donations will help cover Millie's emergency vet bills, medications for recovery and allow us a little room incase we need to bring her back to the ER if heart or lung issues develop over the next 48hrs, which is common in mouth electrocutions. She does have 1st and 2nd degree burns on one side of her cheek and gums. Thank you for your prayers and caring words. It truly means so much to us.
