My husband died unexpectedly three and a half weeks ago, leaving behind our 13-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. Losing his dad has been devastating for him, and he's struggling to process his grief.

I'm now a single mother managing everything alone. I'm facing immediate financial pressure juggling the mortgage, everyday bills, groceries, gas as well as, the cost of a probate lawyer to handle the house and bank accounts because everything has been frozen.

Managing my work schedule and being a full time support to my autistic child has been extremely difficult. I need to work as much as possible to keep us afloat, but my son needs me here too and I’m still downing. I'm doing my best to compartmentalize the loss and show up for him while and work while holding everything together.
