🇯🇵 summer internship !

This upcoming summer, I have the incredible opportunity and honor to go back to Yokohama, Japan, where I will be interning alongside Lifehouse International Church! This opportunity is something that is far greater than just traveling back to Yokohama, but to GO and love the people of Japan like Jesus loves them. Through serving, building relationships, and sharing the hope of Gospel to many who have never heard it.

Japan is one of the most unreached nations in the world. Less than 1% of the population identify as Christian, meaning there are millions of people who have never heard about Jesus. So many people, searching people, have not heard the gospel and this compels me to GO. Hearing about that 1% and seeing the 1% is something that moves your heart to do things that you normally would never do. Over the two weeks I was previously there, we met/connected with over 500 people and saw 4 salvations. This is HUGE numbers when less than 1% identify as Christian, and I believe this is just the beginning of what God wants to do in Japan. Those 2 weeks had changed my life. I was pushed out of my comfort zone, but overall I fell in love with the people of Japan and touched deeply by the people we met.

Japan is a beautiful place filled with even more beautiful people who God desperately wants to touch. I knew God wasn’t done with touching the hearts of His people, and I knew He was calling me back to continue His mission!

During the duration of my internship with Lifehouse International Church, I will have the opportunity to come alongside all God is currently doing within their church and ministry. Most of my time will be spent serving through street outreach and evangelism, creating opportunities to meet people in Yokohama and build genuine friendships. Through these relationships, I hope to have meaningful conversations about faith, the gospel, and the hope we have in Jesus. Alongside street outreach, I will also have opportunities to participate in language exchanges with both adults and children. These experiences will allow me to learn from the people of Japan while serving them, building authentic relationships, and being challenged to step outside of my comfort zone as I follow where God is leading me. I am currently raising $8,000 to help cover the costs of this internship, including flights, housing, transportation, food, and other expenses throughout my time in Japan!
