What does it mean to go on mission?

For me, mission means sharing God’s love in both word and action.

This year marks my third mission trip to South Africa since 2023. Our purpose is to continue sharing God’s Word and what it means to be in relationship with Him and draw close to Him. But we are also returning with an opportunity to make a very practical and profound difference in the lives of girls and women.

Two years ago, during our last visit, we purchased hundreds of feminine-care products to distribute to girls and young women who did not have access to the basic supplies they needed each month.

The impact of that lack of access is significant. Girls may stay home from school during their menstrual cycles because they do not have the products they need to attend without fear of embarrassment. Women may also miss work for the same reason. Something many of us take for granted in the United States can have far-reaching consequences month after month.

But this is a need we can help address.

One of the most unexpected and moving moments from our previous trip happened while we were distributing supplies at local high schools. Young boys approached us asking whether they could take products home for their mothers or sisters. Their concern for the women in their families was deeply moving and reinforced just how important these basic supplies are within the broader community.

This year, we want to do it again—and do even more.

Providing menstrual-care products means helping girls remain in school rather than missing class because they lack essential supplies. It means helping women go to work and continue providing for their families. It means reducing embarrassment, restoring dignity, and removing a very real barrier that affects girls and women every single month.

That is why I am asking for your help.

Your donation will help us purchase these much-needed supplies for girls and women in the communities we will serve in South Africa. What may seem like a small or ordinary item to us can make a fundamental and lasting difference in someone else’s daily life.

Pray that God will provide abundantly for the people in these communities. Pray that lives will be transformed through learning about Jesus and experiencing His love. Pray for the girls and women we will serve, for the families and communities welcoming us, and for safe travels and protection for our mission team.

Whether or not you personally share in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are all part of a larger human community. Every act of generosity, encouragement, prayer, sharing, or goodwill contributes something positive.

Together, we can help remove a basic but significant barrier for girls and women and remind them, in a very tangible way, that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
