Help Us Fight For Jessica

Thank you all, for your prayers and financial support during this trying time. Through the various methods we used to raise funds, including GSG, we were able to raise enough money to reach our goal. Jessica will be coming home with family in the coming weeks, and we couldn't have done it without your support. My family is raising funds for my cousin, Jessica, a vulnerable adult with significant disabilities who cannot advocate for herself. Jessica is deaf, has cerebral palsy, a seizure disorder, and significant developmental disabilities. She has lived with her family her entire life and communicates through a unique, informal form of sign language developed with the people closest to her. Recently, Jessica was removed from her lifelong home by Adult Protective Services, and our family is now fighting through the court system to protect her rights and bring her back to safe, loving family care. Making this even more heartbreaking, Jessica’s mother, my aunt, passed away on Monday. Jessica is now grieving the loss of her mom while also being separated from the family and familiar surroundings she has always known.

I have personally filed everything I possibly can on our own, gathered documentation, built our case, contacted advocacy organizations, and done everything I know to do without legal representation. We have now reached the point where we urgently need an attorney, and the court has given us until September 15 to move forward. The funds raised here will go directly to the lawyer to help cover attorney fees, court costs, and the advocacy expenses necessary to keep fighting for Jessica.

Our family has done everything we know to do on our own, and now we need help. Jessica cannot fight this battle for herself, so we are going to keep fighting for her.
