Help Jori Recover and Support Our Family

As a husband and father, asking for help like this is extremely difficult for me. But right now, my priority is making sure my wife Jori has the time, care, and resources she needs to recover and that our children remain cared for and secure while we walk through this. So I gotta swallow my pride and ask for help, and I’m grateful for anything contributed to our family.

Nine days after giving birth to our son, my wife suddenly started experiencing heart failure, which resulted in her being immediately admitted to the hospital. Since then, we’ve experienced multiple setbacks, emergency room visits, and hospital stays.

This has caused my family’s life to change in ways I never saw coming and has required me to spend everything I have to take care of my wife and our children during this unexpected time.

Right now, I’m limited to work because of the level of care Jori needs, all of her medical appointments, and also caring for our children. That alone has created a huge financial setback for our family.

Currently, our family vehicle is broken down, so I’ve been constantly paying for Ubers and using my mothers vehicle when I can just to get back and forth to the hospital to be with Jori.

One of my biggest concerns now is that she has so many upcoming appointments and specialists she needs to see, and I’m struggling to figure out how I’m going to transport her to everything while continuing to financially provide for our family.

We’re now faced with medications, medical bills, transportation, groceries, our regular household bills, and everything else that comes with trying to help Jori recover while taking care of our children.

Everything is adding up quickly, and the reality is that I can’t care for my family at the level they need right now and work at the same time.

My mom has been my partner through all of this. She has dropped everything every time I’ve needed her. She’s cared for our kids, shown up during emergencies, helped care for Jori, and spent what she has to help our family. Her support has helped carry us this far, and I’m extremely grateful for her.

But honestly, I’m getting very close to being tapped out.

I’ve had to put taking care of my wife and children first, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But I’ve reached a point where I realize I can’t carry all of this by myself.

So I gotta swallow my pride and ask for help.

Any contribution will go toward helping us keep our household stable, feed and care for our children, get Jori to her appointments, cover medications and medical needs, and give me the ability to remain by my wife’s side while she recovers.

My wife is my best friend, and right now, my job is to do everything I can to help her get better and keep our family together while we walk through this.
