On Saturday, December 20th, 2025 around 3:30 pm, there was a terrible accident on a Hamilton City Bus. My great friend, Michael Snape (31) was on the bus with his wife, Josie, and 11 month old daughter, Lydia. The city bus unexpectedly slammed its breaks and Michael, according to witnesses, went airborne and slammed head first into the front steel panel of the bus. EMTs were called and Michael was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition and underwent emergency brain surgery where part of his skull was removed. He was heavily sedated until this evening (Sunday, December 21st) but is now in and out of consciousness with no understanding of what has happened. His condition is still incredibly tenuous and we have no idea what the outcome will be. God willing he will survive this - however, he will need months of rehab, and his wife will certainly have psychological trauma from watching this happen. 

Michael has been a warrior for truth and freedom. He was the Legislative Assistant for former MPP Randy Hillier for 4 years through the covid  debacle until Randy’s departure from the Ontario Legislature in 2022. He was instrumental in No More Lockdowns as an organizer and technical coordinator - delivering 50,000 signs across Ontario letting freedom loving citizens know they were not alone. He is passionate about the ability and right for all Canadians to live freely and with sovereignty and autonomy over themselves. 

Michael and Josie welcomed their first child into this world in January of this year. Today Josie and baby Lydia are facing an uncertain future and a Christmas without Michael as he fights for his life in hospital. Josie is a dedicated stay at home mother, and an incredibly talented artist, while Michael works incredibly hard to support his family and her talent. What they are facing at this moment feels insurmountable but we have spent the last 5 years building a community of freedom loving Canadians and it cannot be for nothing. It is in times like these that we must put our hard work and sacrifices to the test. As we work to connect Josie with legal help, child care, and drives to the grocery store and hospital, we are humbly asking for financial support so that the bills can be paid and so that Josie can make it through this in hope and strength, which will help Michael do the same. 

As we pray, each in our own way, may we be reminded of God’s love and of the grace and mercy afforded to all of us in suffering, health, and prosperity.
