Journey to Robotics World Championship

Help Cade & Team Blue Crew Go to Robotics World Championship! 🌎

We’ve been blessed with an incredible opportunity, but we need a little help to get there...

It’s hard to believe, but somehow my teammates and I turned a pile of robotics parts (along with some code and a lot of problem-solving) into earning several awards this season. We won Tournament Champions twice, along with 2 Innovate Awards and a Build Award, all of which qualified us for the State Championship. Then, we received the "Build Award" at the Michigan Robotics State Championship that qualified us for the World Championship in St. Louis this April 2026. We are beyond excited and honored for this opportunity!

But…first, we need to get there...

My teammate and I are raising funds to help cover our families’ travel expenses (because unfortunately, robots still can’t pay their own way yet). Any additional funds that I raise here will be shared with my teammate (Drew) for his expenses or go back into the Hudsonville Christian Robotics program to help cover our $1800 registration fee and support our future Robotics & Drone program.

My name is Cade and I am currently a junior at Unity Christian High School. I have been part of the same robotics program for the past five years. I’ve also had the chance to help coach younger robotics students in a different program. I competed at Worlds in 8th grade, and it had a huge impact on me. It was fun getting to meet and compete with teams from all over the world. We quickly learned you don’t even need to speak the same language to work together. Between Google Translate, pointing to pictures in a notebook, along with a lot of smiling and nodding when we weren’t quite sure, we made it work. This time, I’m excited to go back with more experience, a better understanding of what to expect, and with a strong robot design and team. No matter what, I know we’ll have fun and make the most of this incredible learning experience by using the gifts that God has blessed us with.

This season, I’ve had to balance robotics with a very full and challenging class load at school, orchestra, the REC Aerial Drones program, church, volunteering, and work. The last couple of weeks, I’ve also been collecting returnable pop cans, but after a few overflowing (and slightly gross and sticky) grocery carts, I realized I might need to expand my fundraising strategy a bit. I’ll still be collecting cans and selling baked goods when I can, but in the meantime, I truly appreciate any extra donations. Every bit helps both my teammate and I get one step closer to Worlds and making this dream and goal a reality!

If you’re able to give, even just a small amount, it will truly help make a difference. If not, it's okay and I totally understand...Just sharing this page will help get the word out. Thanks so much for your prayers, being part of our journey, and helping us get to Worlds!  Blessings ~ Cade
