A Helping Hand Towards a Fresh Start

Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to read my story.

I’m a working professional in the UK, and writing this is something I never imagined I would do. Asking strangers for financial assistance is difficult, particularly when the situation I’m in is largely the result of my own past decisions.

Over the years, I’ve made financial mistakes that have left me carrying personal debt. I take responsibility for those mistakes, and I’ve been working to put things right.

I’m fortunate to have full-time employment, and I recognise that many people face circumstances far more difficult than mine. However, the pressure of repayments, interest and constantly feeling as though I’m trying to catch up has affected my peace of mind and made it difficult to move forward financially.

Finding faith and a different perspective

Around two years ago, I became a Christian, and my relationship with Jesus has genuinely changed my life.

My faith has taught me the importance of grace, humility, forgiveness and taking responsibility for my actions. It has also helped me understand that our worth isn’t measured by our financial circumstances or how our lives compare with those around us.

I’ve spent a lot of time praying about my future and trying to make better decisions. I’m not expecting God or anybody else to simply erase the consequences of my mistakes. I know that rebuilding my finances requires responsibility, patience and discipline.

But I’ve also learned that sometimes we need the humility to ask for help.

What I’m asking for

I’m hoping to raise voluntary contributions towards reducing my personal debts, including credit cards and other borrowing.

Every contribution would go towards reducing those balances and the associated interest, helping me work towards a more financially stable future.

I also want to be transparent that I have an employee share savings scheme expected to become available towards the end of this year. I intend to use those funds responsibly towards improving my financial position. I’m not claiming that donations are my only possible route out of debt.

If somebody would prefer to contribute directly towards a creditor through an appropriate secure arrangement, I would welcome that.

Why I’m keeping my identity private

I’ve chosen to share my story without identifying myself publicly because this is an incredibly personal matter, and I want to protect my privacy and professional life.

My circumstances and the purpose of this fundraiser are genuine. I’m willing to provide appropriate supporting information privately through a secure verification process.
