For nearly 70 years, Ed and Lois Oglesby have poured out their lives to serve others. Now, it's our turn to serve them.

Married in June 1959, Ed and Lois made a lifelong covenant to serve as missionaries in Mexico. They started in Baja California running youth sports camps, and in 1966, they moved to Puebla. They never left. Well past traditional retirement age, Lois (now 92) and Ed (89, turning 90 this November) have spent over six decades building churches, running a Bible seminary, mentoring pastors, providing nursing care, and leading construction projects.

They chose a life of radical obedience over comfort. They chose to stay on the mission field rather than return to the United States for a traditional retirement, a choice that would eventually separate them from standard U.S. safety nets. Today, this beautiful couple is facing a quiet but heavy financial crisis—and they need their global family to step in.

Three years ago, Ed began facing severe health challenges. He was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare bone marrow disorder. Tragically, it began progressing toward leukemia, forcing Ed to undergo grueling months of chemotherapy.

To stay alive, Ed requires intensive medical care, lab work, regular doctor visits, and frequent blood transfusions. Most critically, he needs a life-saving injection of a medication called Aranesp every single Friday. Each weekly shot costs $600, bringing their monthly prescription expenses alone to approximately $3,000. He also requires home-health assistance for basic daily needs like showering. Lois also has some health problems, yet these two dedicated servants continue in daily ministry in Mexico!

Ed and Lois have always lived modestly, relying on missionary support and Social Security. For years, they were responsibly covered by a Christian health-cost-sharing organization. However, a sudden policy change has left them completely stranded.

The health-share organization recently reduced its payout for senior citizens to just 20%, assuming the remaining 80% would be covered by U.S. Medicare. But because Ed and Lois live permanently in Mexico to finish their race as missionaries, U.S. Medicare covers $0 of their medical expenses. Medicare does not pay for healthcare outside of the United States. With the health-share company dragging its feet on appeals, this elderly couple is watching their finances rapidly dwindle to zero.

Their daughter, family, and a dedicated grandson live nearby and provide incredible hands-on daily care, but they cannot carry the weight of these financial bills alone.

Ed and Lois are deeply thankful for how God has provided for them through seven decades of ministry. They are fully confident that He will continue to provide—perhaps through you.
