Support Mitch's Heart Attack Recovery

Hello, my name is Shelley and as much as we didn't want to reach out for help we have exhausted other options right now. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

On August 10,2026 our lives took a sudden turn when I got that devistating phone call Mitch (my husband) who is an OTR truck driver was hauling a 70,000 pound load on his semi to California when he started having chest pain and burning. He tried to stop and rest thinking it would go away but instead as the day went on it got worse. He then decided it was time to go to the hospital, which when he looked the closest one was 25 miles away, as he was going to pull over and call 911 he looked up and there was the little blue sign with the "H" on it for the very next exit, he got off on the ramp and headed just a couple blocks to the hospital which he parked his semi in the ER parking lot and tried to make his way to the doors, hunched over in pain he couldn't make it and collapsed outside the ER doors, they rushed to him and got him just in time to discover he was suffering from a heart attack, they worked very fast to save him and get him stable enough to transfer him to a trauma hospital 25 miles away to go straight in for a Heart Cath. EMS arrived very fast and took him straight into the Heart Cath Lab and as they proceeded the doctor found he had an artery 100% blocked as they had to do angioplastey and put a stent in. Myself & our daughter packed a bag and left to make the 6 hour drive to be with him ,as we arrived around 4 am we were so worried and anxious to see him,he actually looked good for just going through what he did.They were all so amazing as they did whatever it took to save my husbands life! He then went to ICU where they monitored him closely and he gradually started feeling better. We are so thankful that he is still here with us.

He recently had a follow up with the cardiologist last week and he said he is very lucky to be here,we now know he has a 30% blockage and a 30-40% blockage in 2 other arteries which he is now on 5 different medications for all of this. He has to go to cardiac rehab which will help him in many ways. He is unable to drive a truck and is out of work at least until the end of November. He has no vacation time,no short term disibility or any leave from work, which means his income which he is our provider has now came to a hault. I am disabled so my income is very limited. We have our daughter and 2 grandchildren that we are raising ages 6 & 10 in our home. We have reached for any assistance we can and we are struggling daily to try and figure out how we are going to get through as the bills will still keep coming in along with if we can't keep up with the medical premiums he will lose his insurance to cover anything medical wise.
