Help Helen put Morality back on the Ballot Paper in Holborn & St Pancras by-election...

On the 8th October, residents from Holborn and St Pancras will be heading to the ballot to decide who will replace our former prime minister, Keir Starmer.

15 candidates will be battling it out to take his place.

There is no denying that the main fight will be between Labour and Greens, both of which are pining for the Muslim vote. But who will be representing truly Christian values in the ballot, on the streets, and at the doors?

Meet Helen Spiby-Vann, the local 61-year-old wife, mother, and Christian political campaigner who has, at significant personal expense, thrown her hat in the ring in order to ensure Christian morality is not swept under the rug in the run-up to this vote.

Going up against large and well-funded party machines, Helen, who founded a food bank during lockdown, is standing with the small but experienced Christian Peoples Alliance. Advocating for a raft of common-sense policies, her primary reason for standing is to be a witness to biblical truth and our country's rich Christian heritage.

Can you help amplify her voice over the coming weeks by supporting her efforts?

I (Christian Hacking) joined her on the streets last Friday and I can say she’s the real deal.

From her unashamed witness to the carefully and compassionate way she engaged the Camden homeless, Helen is not acting a role; she is contending as one woman for the faith, highlighting our Christian heritage and injecting our politics with much-needed Christian morals.

And she needs your help! Can you support Helen in prayer or a small financial offering over this election season.

Need to know more: What is Helen standing for?

The main thing Helen is standing for is:

Putting the 10 Commandments Back into Politics

Anyone of Helen's age would remember the days when we used to learn the 10 commandments in school. Obeying these simple 10 rules (e.g., Do not murder, lie, steal, or commit adultery) doesn’t make us Christian, but it does supply the building blocks for a stable society. As we have embraced liberal multi-faith ideas, we see these principles eroded left, right, and centre. According to the government’s ‘proven reoffending’ rates: fraud, robbery, and drugs are at the highest rate ever. From custody, reoffending rates are also at record highs: 33.3% for children and 37.3% for adults. Whatever is being done visibly by criminals is often being mirrored secretly by elites, whose disdain for the common man and the nation state grows clearer year by year. As the vote approaches what is clear is we don’t just need better policies; we need a return to God.

A microcosm of this is the Christian-based rehabilitation programs like Saltbox, based in Stoke, which have been able to reduce reoffending well below the national average (national average is 28% vs Saltbox 6–12%). This is why we’d like to see their programs properly funded and rolled out nationally.

Ensuring that Wealth Stays in the Country

We want to slow the advance of large global multinationals with the introduction of a 5% Turnover Tax* for companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Starbucks, Shell etc., who send all their profits abroad to avoid paying Corporation Tax. We would recover £40.5bn. We’d offset this against British companies who would pay less.

We’d also cut QUANGOS to save £50bn in order to reduce income tax.

Strengthening the Family

Lots of parties talk about wanting to strengthen the family, but we are putting our money where our mouth is. We’d introduce a £12,000 grant before a first marriage

and a £6,000 grant before a married couple’s first child is born. Family breakdown

wrecks lives; it must be discouraged and loyalty rewarded . We’d also restore parental rights over their children’s education, especially regarding RSE in schools.

Protecting Life

If our country is to have any future whatsoever, we must start respecting human life (which begins at conception, BTW). This is why we’d introduce nationwide pro-life pregnancy care services, including accommodation for women at risk of homelessness because of pregnancy, as well as those with special needs and single-parent families.

Not Just About Winning, It’s About Being a Witness

There are over a dozen churches in Holborn and St Pancras, and according to our last census, around 32,000 Christians. The very area is named after St Pancras, the 14-year-old Turkish boy martyred by the Romans, whose relics were thought to have been brought to the site by Pope Gregory in the 4th century.

This vote is taking place on ground that has been named after Christian martyrs, and yet who is representing unapologetic Christian values?

The answer is Helen is.

Adamant on informing local residence their Christian Heritage, Helen decided to purchase a plastic mannequin head and parade it from Kentish Town to Camden. Far from an orthodox campaigning style it certainly got peoples attention! Arriving at Camden, she purchased lunch for her exhausted team before continuing her quest to let everyone know exactly who St. Pancras was and why he died. Many conversations I witnessed moved onto spiritual matters.

While some candidates standing for some parties will have a faith or are sympathetic to Christian values, the main contenders, Labour and the Greens, have been actively working against Christian morality for some years. By backing en masse assisted suicide or abortion and by siding with Islam or a paganised view of Mother Earth, they are actively engaging in the shedding of innocent blood, ungodly alliances, and love of self. They have made themselves a stench to God’s nostrils and desecrated our land with their idolatry.

This is why the CPA exists. We lead with our Christianity and allow common-sense policy to follow. More than ever, UK politics needs Christian voices. The CPA provides it; this is why we need your support.

Helen won’t be sacrificing her life in this election but she is sacrificing her time, energy, reputation and personal money. Why not sacrifice with her openly or anonymously by giving towards her campaign.

People will not hear the good news unless they are told. And people won’t be told unless someone like Helen uses the rare window of openness that comes with an election, to tell them.
