Scott H. Gave Us Eagles. Let’s Give Back.

If you’ve spent time along The Woodlands Waterway or at Hughes Landing, there’s a good chance you’ve met Scott, or at least seen his work. I first met Scott a year ago as a Woodlands Town Center Ranger. Scott was always a familiar face by the water, smiling with camera in hand, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to capture the bald eagles that call our community home. His photos have given so many of us a closer look at these incredible birds and a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty right in our own backyard.

What people who have never met Scott is that he has done all of this from a wheelchair. His determination and patience have never wavered, and his love for photography has been a constant source of joy, both for him and for everyone who sees his work.

Along with the physical and emotional weight of his medical conditions came a wave of medical expenses that insurance doesn’t fully cover. To keep up with those bills, Scott made a heartbreaking choice: he sold his camera.

For someone whose camera is far more than equipment, this was a huge loss. Photography is how Scott connects with nature, with his community, and with the eagles he has followed for years. It’s part of who he is.

We’re raising money to help Scott with the medical bills insurance won’t cover so he can focus on his treatment and recovery, and so he can buy a new camera and get back to doing what he loves. Every gift, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to being back on the Waterway, lens pointed at the sky.
