Legal Defense for Wrongful Conviction

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I am reaching out to you today as a mother fighting for her son’s future. I need your help to raise legal defense funds for my son Mark Mair.

My son is currently incarcerated, serving two consecutive 15 years-to-life sentences. During his proceedings, my son's attorney coerced him into accepting a plea deal for the attempted aggravated murder charge. His attorney told him that if he did not take the plea deal then he would do life in prison without the possibility of parole and he would never be able to go home to his family again. His attorney assured my son that his two 15 year-to-life sentences would run concurrently (together). Instead, he was sentenced to serve them consecutively (back-to-back).

Despite his circumstances, my son has completely transformed his life behind bars. He is working hard every day to change lives inside the prison walls. He has dedicated his time to rehabilitation and successfully completing numerous educational programs and classes to better himself. He graduated from a major program called "My Story Matters," He did so well that he became a mentor. Helping change the lives of other incarcerated men. 

My son has learned to crochet while incarcerated and has started a program called “Crocheting for a Change and Crafting for a Cause”. They crochet beanies, scarves, blankets, baby booties, roses, and they also draw and paint portraits and pictures.. they donate these items to these children's hospitals, homeless shelters, youth at risk centers, domestic violence shelters, old folks homes, handicap centers, public charities, and others in need. This is their way of giving back to society.

We are now in a race against time to raise the funds to retain a dedicated post-conviction attorney .
