Hey there Bicentennial Class of Albert G Lane Technical High School in Chicago!
We have created a beautiful design for a special Class of 1976 50th Reunion Coin as a memory of our time together. We are planning a one-time-only run of 500 serial numbered coins. Coins 11-500 will be available through ordinary donations here. Coins 1-10 will be auctioned.
We are requesting a minimum donation of $12 for Individual coins, assigned on a first come, lower number basis. This should assure that later packaging and postage costs for those we need to ship are covered. You may also elect to pick yours up at the Reunion Dinner.
We are looking for two things here: 1) anyone who will help with up-front assistance in paying for the production run and 2) anyone just wanting to receive a coin, or coins for themselves. The manufacturer requires approximately $3,000 for the 500-coin production run, so that’s our immediate fundraising goal. It takes 4 weeks to make and ship, so please jump in before August 18 so we can have them by our reunion.
‘SPECIAL SERIAL NUMBERS #001–#010: We are planning to auction the first ten coins individually, beginning with #010 and working down to #001. Proceeds will help fund production of the 500-coin run and our Lane Tech class-gift fundraising effort. (Watch on our Facebook Group (link below) for auction details)
When all is said and done, anything over and above the costs, a) received from advances for manufacturing, less reimbursements, or b) from individual donations for coins or c) first 10 coins auctions, will be donated to Lane Tech. Contact Greg for arrangements if you need a partial refund afterwards. This is not a profit making venture.
If you are truly considering assisting with the getting the initial order going with a partially refundable advance (less your intended donation), email me and I would be happy to forward you a copy of the manufacturer's quote to let you see the production pricing is real.
