Help Nathaniel Continue Nursing School in China

My name is Nathaniel Gwen, and I am a nursing student from Nimba County, Liberia. I am currently a second-year nursing student at Wenzhou Medical University in China and a member of United Liberia Inland Church.

I am creating this fundraiser because my family is facing a serious financial challenge, and I urgently need help to continue my education. My parents, Mr. Abel P. Gwen and Mrs. Esther K. Gwen, are currently experiencing financial difficulties and are unable to provide the funds needed to cover my upcoming school-related expenses.

Why I Need Your Help

My tuition and dormitory fees for the upcoming academic year total 26,400 RMB, which is approximately US$3,926 based on a recent exchange rate. The exact USD equivalent may vary depending on the exchange rate at the time of payment.

The costs are:

Tuition: $3,480 USD

Dormitory and related school fees: $446 USD

In addition to tuition and dormitory fees, I also need to cover other necessary student-related expenses, including medical insurance, required medical or health-related fees, and visa/residence permit fees.

My payment deadline is approximately two weeks away. Without financial assistance, I may face serious difficulty remaining enrolled and continuing my nursing education.

Being Honest About My Academic Journey

I also want to be transparent about my academic situation. I have experienced academic difficulties, including repeating a course or academic year, and I still have makeup coursework to complete.

I take responsibility for these challenges. I am committed to completing my outstanding coursework, improving my academic performance, and continuing my education with greater focus, discipline, and determination.

My Dream of Becoming a Nurse

My dream is to complete my nursing education and eventually return to Liberia to serve patients and communities, especially people who have limited access to healthcare.

Coming from Nimba County, I understand how important healthcare workers are to communities where medical resources can be limited. Nursing is more than a career to me. It is an opportunity to care for people with compassion, knowledge, patience, and dedication.

I want to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become a responsible and compassionate nurse and use my education to serve people in my country.
