Help Me Secure a Safe Home for My Five Children

I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this.

I recently discovered that the mortgage on the home where I live with my five children has fallen seriously behind. I found a debt-collection letter stating that the mortgage debt is now in collections.

The mortgage and home are not in my name. I do not have access to the mortgage account, and I don't have the financial ability to bring a mortgage this far behind current on my own.

Finding this out has been terrifying because I have five children who depend on me, and I don't know how much time we have before our housing situation becomes an immediate crisis.

I work and do everything I can to provide for my children. I'm not asking for help because I don't want to work or support my family. I'm asking because I was blindsided by a situation that is financially far beyond what I can handle alone.

Because I need to be prepared to move immediately if necessary, I'm trying to raise enough money to secure another home for my children and me.

Rent for a home that can accommodate all of us is approximately $1,500–$1,800 per month. The money raised would help with:

• First month's rent

• Security deposit

• Moving expenses

• Utility deposits and connection fees

• Application fees

• Basic necessities for our new home

My goal is $6000

As a mother, the hardest part of this isn't the money. It's the fear of not being able to give my children the stability and security they deserve.

I'm doing everything I can to make sure we have somewhere safe to go. I'm working, I'm looking for solutions, and I'm trying to plan ahead instead of waiting until my children and I are suddenly without a home.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me, but my children's security has to come before my pride.
