After months of fighting through a CPS case that began over a disagreement about my son Presten’s medical care—and ultimately closed without findings of abuse—our family’s legal battle is not over.

We are now facing guardianship proceedings while also consulting with attorneys about other possible legal paths forward. Our goal is to protect Presten’s rights, preserve his important relationships, address the harm caused throughout this process, and ensure that decisions about his future are based on complete and accurate information.

We recognize that Presten may need support in certain areas. However, any support or legal arrangement should be based on his individual needs, protect his voice and rights, and be no more restrictive than necessary.
