Update on the Belz Family

We now know that the Belz home will require a complete renovation, including a new roof. The family expects to live in a hotel and/or camper for several months while their home is rebuilt.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated and prayed. We are also incredibly grateful to the Elgin Fire Department and the Belz family’s neighbors who have provided clothing, toiletries, and other necessities.

We have adjusted the fundraising goal to reflect the family’s longer-term needs. Please continue to pray for Nick, Helena, and their four children as they walk through the months ahead.

Tonight, Nick and Helena Belz’s home in Elgin, Oklahoma, was struck by lightning and caught fire. By the grace of God, Nick, Helena, and their four children, ages 16, 12, 8, and 6, were not home when this occurred. Sadly, one of their beloved cats did not survive.

The entire roof burned, and their home and belongings have suffered devastating fire and smoke damage. Tonight, the family is in a hotel, and tomorrow they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

Nick is stationed at Fort Sill, and now this military family needs our help. Donations will help provide immediate necessities, temporary housing, clothing, food, and other expenses as they work through the aftermath and begin rebuilding.

Above all, please pray for the Belz family—that God would give them strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.
