Help Restore Power After August 5th Fire

Hi everyone, my name is Jamie Elliott. On August 5th, our world was turned upside down when a severe fire destroyed our home here in Oakridge, Oregon.

Thankfully, Richard (the homeowner), our dogs, and I made it out safely, but we lost nearly everything else. The fire took most of our belongings, our memories, and our sense of security.

We are both full-time students. Losing our computers, textbooks, and workspace has brought our coursework to a complete standstill. Right now, we have no power, which also means we have no water. That has made daily life incredibly difficult. Our immediate focus is simply trying to get electricity restored to what's left of the house so we can have power and running water. To do that, we need to hire an electrician to pull the permits, put up a new power pole, and complete an inspection.

We are starting over from scratch, and the financial burden of replacing our school equipment, buying everyday necessities, getting dog supplies, and repairing the house is overwhelming.

How the funds will be used:

• Immediate Needs: Clothing, toiletries, groceries, and essentials for our dogs.

• Temporary Utilities: Covering gas for the generators so we can maintain power in the remaining livable part of the house.

• School Replacement: Replacement laptops and required textbooks so we don't lose our academic progress.

• Rebuilding: Furniture, bedding, dishes, and basic household items.

It is incredibly hard to ask for help, but we know we cannot get through this without the support of our community. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a massive difference in helping us survive these next few weeks and eventually rebuild our lives.
