Help Emily beat cancer for life

As many of you know, our daughter Emily was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in June of this year. Because of the size and fast-growing nature of her tumor, she was fast-tracked into treatment. It has been a whirlwind, as it is for so many families facing a cancer diagnosis.

Here in Pittsburgh she was given a year-long treatment plan including chemotherapy, biologics, radiation, and surgery. Most of those costs will be covered by her health insurance. As we began to settle into our new routine post diagnosis, we discussed wanting more than the standard treatment had to offer.

Emily is just 41 years old with a 3 year old daughter. She and her husband, Steve, also share time with his two sons who live in South Carolina. Our prayer is for a lasting recovery so she can raise her little girl and spend as many years as possible with all of us.

We felt our prayers were answered when one of Emily's medical providers informed her of a precision cancer center out of state that seeks to test for and treat underlying health issues that can contribute to the development of cancer. After talking with the precision cancer center, we learned that medical insurance does not cover the cost of this.

We proceeded by paying out of pocket for in depth testing at the center which uncovered several underlying health issues that need to be addressed for Emily to have the best chance of this cancer never returning. The center also said that these treatments may even help reduce or eliminate the debilitating migraines Emily has suffered with- wouldn't that truly be a miracle to be cancer AND migraine free? ❤️

We are continuing to pay out of pocket for care at the center as we can but have decided to create a Give Send Go for our daughter to help make this treatment plan a reality for her and her family.
