My name is Michelle, and I am reaching out because I find myself in a situation I never imagined I would be in. I am a mother to two beautiful children, Madison and Jaxson. Recently, I survived a severe instance of domestic violence involving strangulation by my husband. He is now locked up and there is absolutely no contact, but because he was the sole provider for our household, his absence has left us completely stranded financially.

Right now, we are in a brand new city where we don’t know anyone. I have no family or friends here to turn to, and I feel completely alone and helpless. I currently only have food stamps to keep my children fed and about $500 left to my name. All of our household bills are due, and our water and electricity are facing immediate shutoff any day now.

To make matters harder, our only transportation is a 2004 Jeep Cherokee that has several mechanical issues. My husband was the only one who knew how to fix it, so getting around to find work or make money is nearly impossible right now.

I have never been someone to ask for help, and I feel terrible having to reach out like this, but I am doing it for my children. If you can find it in your heart to donate and help a mom get back on her feet, it would mean more to us than you will ever know. Every dollar will go directly toward keeping our utility lines active, fixing our vehicle, and securing a safe, stable environment for Madison and Jaxson.
