On October 3, Ken was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma. Big fancy word for rectal cancer. Kenni will be going through chemo, radiation and quite likely surgery over the next few months. Cancer is big but our God is bigger!! Right now, Ken feels great and we are so thankful for that blessing.

We will never understand God's timing but this comes after a devastating job/insurance loss when his company abruptly closed their doors in February. Ken was able to find a job rather quickly, however the insurance situation is very poor with extremely high premiums (over $3000 a month) and even higher deductibles. Our family is going to end up paying out of pocket for the majority of his care (along with any needs that may arise for the rest of the family). Ken also has very limited PTO and sick days.

We are setting our first goal at $30,000. We pray that we will never need this much but we see the reality as bills have already started to roll in. This amount will go towards medical expenses and any other expenses the family has during times Ken is off work.
