Support Tamara Pietzke

Tamara Pietzke is a single mother and a pediatric gender medicine whistleblower whose story was published by the Free Press on February 5, 2024. For six years, she worked at MultiCare, a hospital in Puget Sound, Washington.

As a result of going public with her story, she was fired from her job as a therapist.

The LGBT Courage Coalition is raising money to support Tamara and cover her living expenses until she finds other employment. All proceeds will be forwarded to Tamara. Funds in excess of the goal will be held by the LGBT Courage Coalition to support future whistleblowers.

More about Tamara:

Tamara graduated in 2012 with a Masters in social work from the University of Washington. She's since worked with older adults, pregnant and postpartum women, the chronically mentally ill, those in inpatient centers, and she's spent the last six years doing outpatient community mental health. She deeply enjoys the work that she does and feels it’s an honor to be let into other people’s lives. She got into this work with the driving force of wanting, to the best of her ability, to prevent people going through a hard season from feeling alone or like no one cares. She is a mom of three, a cat mom of one, and a turtle mom of one. She enjoys writing, crafts, and being outside, but she can be talked into enjoying pretty much anything as long as she's doing it with the people she loves. Don’t ask her who her favorite musician or band is because she has no idea who the artists are for the songs she enjoys, and even though she lives in the Seattle area, she despises coffee. She never sought out to be a whistleblower, but she believes wholeheartedly in having a voice when something is wrong, even when it seems like you’re standing alone. She will always advocate in the best interest of her clients, not because they’re her clients, but because they’re people, and people are worth fighting for.

Thank you for speaking out! You are helping to turn the tide ( or at least slow it down) for the madness that is "gender-affirming" care. You, Jamie, Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, J.K. Rowling, and most recently Eithan Haim are all Hero's in my book.

I learned about your campaign from the Gender: A Wider Lens podcast. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice. Don't give up. I am a male who successfully transitioned surgically to living as woman. Had I been provided competent psychotherapeutic care, I doubt I would have transitioned.

I listened to your interview on "Gender: a wider lense," and want to help you. Thank you for being a voice of reason and clarity during this time of madness and confusion, an advocate for the most vulnerable, and a light in the darkness.

I saw your interview with Stella O'Malley and Sasha Ayad. You deserve a great deal of credit for your integrity, honesty, ethics, and perseverance. I pray that you and your family will weather the storm of hypocritical injustice and attempted censorship which the petty minded holders of power have sent your way to try to stifle your voice. May you inspire others to also speak out.

This is the first opportunity I’ve seen to help stop the horror show of medical “transitions” to young people, and Ms. Pietzke can use the money.

You're a brave lady and what is happening to you is as amoral as what is being done to kids in the name of an infantile ideology. Good luck and I hope to see you vindicated soon.

Just watched your interview with Gender: A Wider Lens. I've faced this gender insanity as it invaded the Democratic party here in Spokane. This issue is poisoning politics and somewhat understandably causing so many people to join or align with the dangerous and insane Trump/ MAGA crowd. Sometimes it is hard to tell which insanity is worse.

Update #1

May 28th, 2024

Thank you all so much for your support. It has been invaluable in this season. Of course, the monetary piece is sustaining my family and I while I try to build my private practice (www.pietzkecounseling.com), but in my most defeated moments, I come here to read your comments. Truly, your kind words and support are sustaining me. The state is now investigating me, and I am starting to see clients, but the building of my practice has been slow. The future continues to be very uncertain, AND I'm still very committed to doing what I can to change the way young people receive help around their gender distress. I wish I could thank you all individually. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
