We are coming together to support a dear friend and her family during an incredibly challenging and faith-stretching season.

Samantha and her husband Jason were overjoyed to discover they were expecting a baby after leaving their dreams to expand their family in God’s hands- a true unexpected miracle baby and a long-answered prayer. At the very same time they received this joyful news, Samantha also learned she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The emotional weight of navigating both a cancer diagnosis and a long-awaited pregnancy has been immense.

Since receiving her cancer diagnosis, Samantha has had many other medical complications thrown her way. As a result, Samantha will need to go on maternity leave a lot earlier than expected. She is also planning for surgery for her cancer for June, only 2 months after baby is expected to arrive. With increased medical care, bed rest, time away from work, and added expenses during an already overwhelming time, the Hawes family could use any support possible.

Despite the uncertainty, this family is choosing to cling to hope and trust God’s faithfulness. As Scripture reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden on their family—assisting with medical expenses, extra time off work, daily needs, and allowing them to focus fully on health, healing, and welcoming precious baby Naomi Faith. Any amount given will make a meaningful difference.
