It was a cold, gray morning when I first realized that things were much more serious than we thought. Terra had been feeling off for months—tired, weak, and just not herself. The initial diagnosis in early 2025 didn't capture the full extent of her condition; it took a grueling round of tests in January 2025 before we finally confirmed what no one wants to hear: stage 4 cancer.

On Sunday April 12th, 2026 shortly after 8 PM Terra lost her battle with cancer. I can firmly say that she fought for as long and as hard as she could. I'm grateful for having 23 years with her, and all of the memories we shared together. She's been my companion since I was 21 years old, and last night I had to say goodbye, for now.

I think I did right by her, singing Gratitude by Brandon Lake as she passed. I had my eyes closed as I sang the final verse, holding her hand I could feel her leave. Her body didn't move, but I could feel a wave of energy. As I finished the song, her Mother said Terra hadn't been breathing for a minute, but I knew, before I opened my eyes or she said a word.

It's in these darkest times that the kindness of others shines through—and you’re part of this story now! Terra believed there was hope and healing in community, and I wholeheartedly agree. Every bit counts; whether it’s donating or sharing our campaign on social media, every action has a ripple effect that can change lives forever.

Terra wanted a simple memorial after being cremated, but it's still costly, and I would appreciate any help that is offered.
