Taylor and Rachel welcomed sweet baby Ridge on Tuesday the 19th of May at Minneapolis Children's Fairview U of M. He was born with Down Syndrome, heart defects, and omphalocele. He has an interrupted aortic arch-Type B, a Large perimembranous VSD, a small ASD, and a mildy small aortic valve. He has undergone numerous testing/procedures since birth to see everything that’s going on in his little body so they can come up with a plan to get him into surgery. He also will require a surgery to fix his omphalocele after they get his heart fixed and he is considered stable to under go another surgery. 

Rachel went into labor at 34 weeks and had a lengthy surgery after birth, due to placenta placement complications. We are praising God for the safe delivery of Ridge! They will remain in Minneapolis until Ridge has his surgeries and he is recovered from them. The doctors said best case scenario is he’d be discharged 4-6 weeks after surgery. 

This fundraiser is to help support them as Taylor is taking time off to be the husband and father he needs to be right now for his family. We are asking for prayers that Ridge can get his surgery soon and recover well from that and Rachel can heal from her surgery. Also, we ask for prayers for the children at home as they are hours away from their parents- that they can remain strong through this trial. Many thanks on behalf of the Somero Family.
