We are reaching out to our community during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Our beloved grandfather, Gary Bates (71), was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer.

He bravely began chemotherapy treatments, but the physical toll and pain have become too much for him to bear. In order to prioritize his comfort, peace, and quality of life, he has made the difficult decision to stop chemotherapy. Right now, our focus as a family is making sure he is surrounded by love and is as comfortable as possible in the time he has left.

As we navigate this heartbreaking reality, we want to ensure that his children and grandchildren can focus on honoring his life and supporting one another, rather than being overwhelmed by immediate financial stress. We are setting up this fund to help cover his upcoming funeral and memorial expenses so that the financial burden doesn't fall heavily on the family during our time of grief.
