Help Alexander Fight Epilepsy and Autism

Hello, my name is Jessica, and I am the mother of my 18-year-old son, Alexander. Alexander was diagnosed with autism at the age of three and is considered Level 3 on the autism spectrum. He also lives with an intellectual disability, delayed developmental milestones, tic disorder, and other neurological conditions. In 2023, our lives changed again when he began having tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures. Since then, his seizures have become more frequent and more severe despite ongoing medical care.

Alexander remains under the care of a Children's Hospital neurologist which is covered by his health insurance, and faithfully takes his prescribed anti-seizure medications. We are grateful for his medical team and will continue following their recommendations. However, despite multiple treatments, his seizures have continued.

After much prayer, fasting, and counsel from trusted mentors and healthcare professionals, we also decided to pursue care with a Chiropractic Neurologist who specializes in neurological rehabilitation through holistic therapies, which is not covered by our health insurance, and is expensive.

Following Alexander's extensive evaluation, the doctor recommended an intensive treatment plan involving neurological therapies twice each week for the next seven weeks.

Each visit costs $250, totaling $500 per week for treatments alone. The clinic is approximately 1½ hours from our home, requiring a three-hour round trip for every appointment, or about six hours of driving each week, along with significant fuel and meal expenses while traveling.

In addition to therapy, Alexander's care plan now includes numerous vitamins and nutritional supplements recommended by his providers. These supplements cost several hundred dollars each month.

Both his chiropractic neurologist and his other neurologist have also recommended that Alexander begin a specialized gluten-free ketogenic diet to help support seizure management. This medical diet significantly increases our monthly grocery expenses.

We are also planning a trip from Ohio to Florida for two important reasons. First, we hope to attend a healing school as we continue standing in faith and seeking the Lord for Alexander's healing. Second, we need to retrieve Alexander's personal belongings from a storage unit and bring them home to Ohio.

Our family believes with all our hearts that Jesus Christ is our Healer. We continue to pray, fast, and trust God for Alexander's complete healing. At the same time, we believe in doing everything we can with the resources God has provided. That means continuing his prescribed medical care while also pursuing additional therapies that may improve his quality of life and give him every possible opportunity to succeed.

We are seeking to raise $15,000 to help cover:

- Chiropractic neurological therapy treatments

- Fuel, travel, and meal expenses for appointments

- Vitamins and nutritional supplements

- Gluten-free ketogenic grocery costs

- Travel expenses to Florida for healing school and to bring Alexander's belongings home to Ohio

If you feel led to support Alexander, whether through a financial gift or by sharing this fundraiser with others, we would be deeply grateful.

Most of all, we ask for your prayers. Please pray for wisdom for Alexander's doctors, strength for our family, provision for every need, and above all, complete healing from his seizures.

Thank you for taking the time to read Alexander's story. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more to our family than words can express.

"The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up." — James 5:15
