My name is LaTanya, and I am fighting breast cancer while trying to keep a safe home for my son and myself. This has been one of the hardest seasons of my life, and I am asking for help because our living situation has become dangerous.

🏚️ Our home is no longer safe

For almost a year, there was a hole in the living room ceiling. It was finally repaired about a month ago — but the landlord never fixed the roof. Because of that, the damage has continued to spread.

A couple of weeks ago, the ceiling in my bedroom collapsed completely, and it is still leaking. Now the water has begun leaking into my son’s room as well. I cannot sleep in my own bedroom, and every day the situation gets worse. We need to move as soon as possible for our safety.

💗 My medical reality

I am currently in chemotherapy until November, and I deal with the side effects from treatment every day — weakness, fatigue, and symptoms that make it hard to function normally.

I also have a pocket of fluid from my surgery in October, along with hard scar tissue that has built up over time. What was supposed to be a simple revision surgery has now turned into my surgeon needing to go back in, remove the scar tissue, and drain the fluid.

The fluid has gotten to the point where standing for hours is impossible right now, especially the 8‑hour shifts my job requires.

My surgery, originally scheduled for August 26, has now been moved to September 3, and I will need a full month of recovery afterward.

Because of treatment, side effects, and the fluid pocket, I am on unpaid medical leave and cannot work right now. I have already missed work for my first surgery, and the time off has put me behind on bills and basic needs.

🩷Why I’m asking for help

I have tried to carry everything on my own, but this season has become more than I can manage alone. I am asking for help so we can move into a safe home, stay stable while I’m on unpaid medical leave, and make it through treatment and recovery without falling further behind.

This journey has tested me in every way, but I still believe God sends people at the right time. I am trusting Him to make a way, and I am deeply grateful for every prayer, every share, and every act of kindness.
