HANDS IN CHRIST MINISTRIES UGANDA
Hands In Christ Ministries Uganda is a Christian-based ministry dedicated to demonstrating the love of Christ by caring for vulnerable children and elderly people in Uganda, particularly through education, spiritual support, basic needs, and community outreach.
1. Ministry Background
Hands In Christ Ministries Uganda was established in 2009 with a vision of restoring hope and providing practical and spiritual support to vulnerable people in communities.
The ministry operates primarily in Mityana District and Kasese District, Uganda, working with vulnerable children and families in communities where poverty and limited access to education create significant challenges.
The ministry is registered under Registration Number: BUS.DIV/81/2019.
2. Our Mission
Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by reaching vulnerable children and elderly people, supporting their education and welfare, and helping them become hopeful, responsible and productive members of their communities.
We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to receive an education, grow in a safe environment, and discover the purpose God has for his or her life.
3. Children We Serve
At present, Hands In Christ Ministries Uganda serves approximately 274 vulnerable children:
171 girls
103boys
Total: 274 children
The children come from vulnerable and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Some face difficulties accessing school because of poverty, long distances to school, unpaid school fees and other challenges affecting their families.
The ministry identifies vulnerable children and works with existing schools and other community partners to help them access education. We do not currently operate our own school; instead, we partner with local schools where the children can receive their education.
4. What We Do
Our major areas of ministry include:
Education support
Supporting vulnerable children to remain in school.
Providing scholastic materials where possible.
Supporting school fees and other educational needs.
Following up on children's attendance and educational progress.
Child welfare and protection
Identifying children who are particularly vulnerable.
Supporting children facing challenges at home and in their communities.
Advocating for safer and more accessible education for vulnerable children.
Giving special attention to girls who face difficulties caused by long distances to school and harassment along the way.
Spiritual ministry
Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Praying with children and families.
Providing Christian encouragement and discipleship.
Helping children understand their worth and hope through Christ.
Community support
Reaching vulnerable families and elderly people.
Providing basic support when resources are available.
Mobilizing individuals and organizations to participate in helping vulnerable communities.
5. Current Challenges
One of the major challenges facing the ministry is the distance some children have to travel to school. Some children walk long distances, which can affect attendance, expose them to safety concerns and make it difficult for them to continue with their education.
We have also experienced challenges with school fees, scholastic materials and transportation.
The ministry currently uses hired old motorcycle for transporting and supporting children and ministry activities. Having reliable motorcycle would greatly improve our ability to reach the children.
6. Why Partnership Is Important
The needs of the children are greater than what the ministry can meet with its current resources. We therefore welcome partnerships with churches, Christian organizations, individuals, sponsors and other organizations that share our concern for vulnerable children.
Support can help provide:
School fees
Scholastic materials
School uniforms
Food and basic necessities
Transportation
Child protection and welfare support
Sustainable income-generating projects
Support for elderly people
Development of safer and more accessible educational opportunities
Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference in the life of a child.

8. Our Vision
Our vision is to see vulnerable children and families transformed through the love of Christ, access to education, practical support and opportunities that enable them to build a better future.
We believe that caring for a vulnerable child is not simply about meeting an immediate need—it is about restoring hope, protecting dignity and giving that child an opportunity to become a good student.
