Support Rob Nunnery's Recovery!

Rob didn’t ask me to do this and may not even love that I am.. but if you know Rob well, you know he’d be first in line for any of us, without question, if the roles were reversed.

So here goes... we're raising money for our good friend Rob Nunnery, who is currently hospitalized after a major, life-altering surgery and facing serious post-operative complications.

A week ago, Rob underwent a proctectomy. His rectum and a nus were permanently removed as part of treatment for severe perianal Crohn’s disease and long-standing fistulas. This was already an intense surgery with a long recovery ahead.

Instead of healing at home, Rob’s condition worsened.

Post-op imaging revealed multiple complications:

  • An infected fluid collection trapped where the rectum was removed
  • A small bowel obstruction
  • A possible internal hernia, with part of the intestine appearing twisted

He has been in extreme pain, requiring IV pain management and a PCA pump that limits sleep to short intervals. He recently had another invasive procedure to place a drain through muscle tissue to release trapped fluid, air, and gas. The drain remains in place and is still outputting significant volume, meaning discharge is not yet possible.

While there are now early signs of progress, Rob is still hospitalized, still managing pain, and still facing uncertainty about whether further surgical intervention will be needed.

This fund is to help relieve the financial pressure that comes with:

  • Extended hospitalization
  • Multiple procedures and imaging
  • Ongoing pain management
  • The long road of healing ahead once he is finally discharged

Rob has been open about what this experience really looks like, especially with a condition that is often under-recognized and misunderstood, even in healthcare settings. Recovery is not linear, and pushing through at home too early would have caused more harm.

If you are able to contribute, you are helping Rob focus on one thing only: getting better.

If you cannot donate, sharing this page means just as much.

Thank you for supporting Rob during this chapter of his life.
