My name is Julie, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mother and our family.

For more than three years, our family has struggled with a property that was once intended to be my mother's source of retirement income. During the pandemic, all of the tenants renting rooms in her building moved out. Many of them returned to their home provinces or transitioned to remote work, leaving the property vacant and without income.

In 2022, I decided to lease the space from my mother and transform it into a small wellness spa. Although the building was already more than 20 years old and constructed largely with light wooden materials, I hoped to create a source of income for our family while also serving our local community.

Unfortunately, the structure's age and condition have caught up with us. The ceiling has partially collapsed, the walls have suffered extensive termite damage, and the roofing has deteriorated so badly that rainwater pours into the building during every rainy season. The space is now in such poor condition that it can no longer operate effectively and requires major renovation.

This property was supposed to provide financial security for my mother in her retirement years. Throughout her working life, she sacrificed greatly for our family, sending most of her earnings toward our education, daily needs, and future opportunities. Today, instead of enjoying a stable retirement, she is struggling because the property that was meant to support her is no longer generating income.

My mother has dedicated much of her life to serving others. She is an active church worker who participates in outreach programs, mission activities, and community support efforts for struggling families. She has always been willing to share whatever she has to help spread the Gospel and encourage people facing difficult circumstances.

I have followed in her footsteps. As part of our church's Christian Education Ministry, I grew up visiting families in underserved communities and helping wherever we could. Serving others and bringing hope to those in need has always been close to my heart.

Although my two siblings and I do our best to support our mother, each of us has a family of our own and faces the financial pressures that many middle-class families experience today. Between raising children, paying bills, and caring for our aging mother, resources are stretched thin.

We hope to rebuild and repurpose this property so it can once again become a source of income and service to the community.

Our vision is to transform the space into Cornerstone Workspace—an affordable, professional, and inspiring environment where entrepreneurs, freelancers, remote workers, students, and creatives can work, learn, and build their dreams. We want to provide a quiet and productive place where people can focus on their goals, away from the distractions and limitations of working from home.

The property measures approximately 77 square meters, and we estimate that it will require between ₱1.5 million and ₱2 million (approximately $26,000–$35,000 USD) to fully repair, renovate, and equip the facility so it can become operational again.

We are a family of Christians seeking to raise our children according to God's Word while serving our community in whatever ways we can. We believe that rebuilding this space will not only help restore my mother's retirement income but will also create opportunities for others to grow their businesses, pursue their education, and improve their lives.
